At Occupational Therapy Network we care about well-being and quality of life. We provide rehabilitation and injury management to support people to be independent in the areas that matter to them and achieve their goals. Since 1998, Occupational Therapy Network has been coordinating services which are timely, effective, collaborative, solutions-focused and make a difference to people's lives.

Our services

Rehabilitation

Occupational Therapy Network works with people who have been injured in a motor vehicle accident, at work or recovering from illness. We provide Case Management and Occupational Therapy, working in partnership with others to arrange treatment and services to meet the person's needs. We support the person and their loved ones from the time the person leaves hospital to adjusting to changes in life at home and regaining independence. As the person progresses we make sure that services target changing needs.

We work with various schemes such as Lifetime Care, Workers Care, CTP Care, motor accident and workers insurance.

icare - Insurance and Care NSW

Occupational Therapy Network provides Case Management and Care Needs Assessments. Our team is committed to supporting people to reach their goals. We coordinate treatment, rehabilitation and care to support a person's recovery and adjustment.

Our team has icare-approved Case Managers and Care Needs Assessors.

Areas of expertise include traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, burns, vision loss and multi-trauma.

Kathryn Caukill
BAppSc(OT), Member of OT Australia

Kathryn’s focus through her career has been community rehabilitation in various occupational therapy, case management and injury management roles.

With a proactive and person-centred approach, Kathryn is passionate about supporting people to grow in independence, wellbeing and quality of life after traumatic injury, severe illness and long term disability.

As a rehabilitation case manager and occupational therapist, Kathryn is adept at coordinating services targeted to provide effective treatment, rehabilitation and care within schemes such as icare (Insurance & Care NSW) Lifetime Care and Workers Care.

Kathryn has previously held management positions in the public and private health sector. A founding principal of Occupational Therapy Network, she has oversight of Occupational Therapy Network services Kathryn’s professionalism and knowledge in the field is valuable in her mentoring role, coaching and leading others. Together with Sigrun Wunram, Kathryn is the driving force behind Occupational Therapy Network’s mission to achieve excellence in service provision.

She has developed a reputation as a reliable expert witness with over two decades of providing opinion in personal injury matters across various jurisdictions. Kathryn is qualified as an joint expert witness, often in complex matters, and has experience with expert conferences and appearing in court. 

Kathryn’s communication skills are key when collaborating with stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes. She keeps up-to-date knowledge and skills, pursuing relevant professional development opportunities.

 

 

Sigrun Wunram
DipOT, MHlthSc(OT), Certificate IV Assessment and Workplace Training, Member of OT Australia

Sigrun’s professional experience encompasses provision of occupational therapy services in hospital, home, community and workplace based rehabilitation and injury management.

For more than three decades, Sigrun has worked with people with various injuries and illnesses, including intellectual disabilities, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

Sigrun currently provides occupational therapy services to the public and private sector including injury management and case management services within the NSW Workers Compensation Insurance, Lifetime Care, Workers Care and Motor Accident Schemes. Additionally, she provides occupational health and safety services. Sigrun conducts occupational therapy medico-legal assessments, utilising her analytical skills to provide balanced opinion based on sound rationale and evidence. She has training and experience as an expert witness.

Sigrun has a strong commitment to evidence-based practice and continuing professional education. She is currently both an approved care needs assessor and approved case manager for icare.

Sigrun’s pragmatic approach to the management of complex client needs ensures that services achieve the desired outcomes. Additional to her clinical role, Sigrun’s expertise is well-utilised in her responsibilities with Occupational Therapy Network, involving the planning and review of service delivery, implementation of quality standards, account management of key clients and provision of professional support to consultants.

Clair Cheel
BSc(OT), Certificate IV Assessment and Workplace Training, Member of OT Austral

Clair has more than 35 years of experience working as an occupational therapist in community, hospital, home and work settings.

Clair has held injury management roles in workplace health and safety, as an advisor, rehabilitation case manager and rehabilitation coordinator within the Workers Compensation and Compulsory Third Party insurance schemes. Her proactive approach to rehabilitation supports people to maximise independence and adjustment to injury/disability. 

Clair has been providing expert opinion in motor accident, professional negligence, public liability and work-related injury or illness matters for more than two decades. She has experience in expert witness conclaves, conferencing and giving evidence in court. Using sound clinical reasoning, she is able to clearly identify and analyse the important issues to make evidence- based recommendations.

As a valued member of the OT Network team Clair’s resourcefulness is an asset in identifying suitable intervention options and problem-solving.

Rosa Coster
B.App.Sc (OT) Member of OT Australia, Driver-trained Occupational Therapist

Rosamaria Coster’s extensive occupational therapy experience spans almost four decades, providing diverse services to the adult population in hospitals, community health, occupational rehabilitation services, and private practice.

Rosa has been involved with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) since its inception as a trial site in the Hunter in 2013.

Rosa’s role with OT Network is providing expert opinion for people located in the greater Newcastle, Hunter and Central Coast regions. Rosa’s approach which features sound analysis of pertinent issues and well-reasoned recommendations, is reflected in the clarity and quality of her reports. Rosa is committed to evidence-based practice, and to continuing education in her key practice areas.

Ros Davis
BAppSc(OT) Occupational Therapist

Based in the Illawarra region, Roslyn has over 35 years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist working in hospital inpatient, outpatient and community settings and injury management with a solid background in acute care and rehabilitation.

Roslyn’s expertise in the management of acute and chronic pain, degenerative and overuse conditions was refined in her health promotion and education role with individuals and group in the areas of arthritis, pain management and cardiac rehabilitation.

Roslyn has a strong knowledge base in behavioural change theory, motivational interviewing, health coaching, health risk assessment and management. Roslyn has proven diversity fulfilling various roles such as occupational therapist, case manager, in management, student teaching and supervision in public and private health and education sector settings. 

Roslyn remains passionate in her commitment to engage client participation in goal setting, and ownership of their health wellbeing to achieve the best possible functional outcomes.

Brooke Farmer
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, University of Queensland

A clinician since 2003, Brooke has significant experience in the rehabilitation and management of neurological, physical and psychiatric conditions.

She has worked in a variety of settings including hospital, private practice and community throughout New South Wales and Queensland, as well as the United Kingdom.

Brooke is an occupational therapist with participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Within this role, Brooke works with children and adults with diverse needs ranging from short term acute physical injury and psychological conditions through to catastrophic injury management. 

Brooke has completed advanced training in medicolegal assessment and has been providing expert opinion in relation to personal injury matters for over a decade.

Spiros Katzakis
BAppSc(OT), Graduate Diploma of Science and Technology (Ergonomics)

Spiros’ occupational therapy experience within the public and private sectors both in Australia and the United States spans over 20 years.

Fulfilling a variety of roles within the injury management sector, Spiros has been responsible for providing direct patient care, independent evaluation and consultancy services and managing rehabilitation teams.

For more than a decade Spiros provided occupational therapy intervention as part of a multidisciplinary team, achieving impressive outcomes across a range of diagnostic groups for clients with neurological, cardiopulmonary, orthopaedic, and integumentary conditions.

Spiros gained extensive experience in supporting people across the age ranges with a broad range of disability and injury types within neonatal intensive care, adult intensive care, skilled nursing unit, and acute care wards. Working in this environment provided Spiros with a detailed knowledge of the recovery process.

Combining knowledge, clinical skill and experience, Spiros proactively engages in early intervention, working collaboratively with stakeholders he provides critical support to build clients’ confidence and effective restoration of capacity and function. Spiros is committed to implementing a person-centred approach which empowers clients to achieve their goals and independence.

Annette Lovat
BAppSc(OT) (Honours), Member of OT Australia

Annette has a depth of experience working in the public and private healthcare systems in Australia and the UK since graduating from the University of Sydney in 2006.

Annette has held senior occupational therapy roles within hospital emergency, acute and inpatient rehabilitation, outpatient and community settings.

Annette has a comprehensive background in functional assessment and occupational therapy intervention with clients with a diverse range of conditions including neurological, orthopaedic, musculoskeletal, cardiac, acquired brain injuries and chronic life-limiting illness. As a senior clinician, Annette has advanced skills in complex equipment and wheelchair prescription, home modifications and intensive functional rehabilitation.

Annette is a dedicated and passionate therapist, actively seeking learning opportunities to ensure her clinical skills are consistent with best practice guidelines to achieve optimal outcomes for her clients.

Charlie Rahme
BAppSc(OT)

Charlie has over 20 years’ experience providing Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation Services to clients with musculoskeletal and general medical conditions and people with a work disability.

As an occupational therapist and case manager he has worked in social services, community and private occupational rehabilitation settings, gaining experience in provision of activities of daily living and care needs assessment, equipment prescription, environmental modifications, moving and handling risk assessments and intervention, functional assessments, workplace assessments, disability case management and medico-legal reporting.

Over the past decade his work has been predominately in the area of rehabilitation during which time he has developed expert skills in case management, workplace rehabilitation and assisting clients maximise their independence following illness or injury.

Charlie is passionate about enabling people to maximise their functional recovery and their participation in pre-injury life roles. Charlie has also held senior rehabilitation advisory and management positions within the personal injury arena working across various compensation schemes and jurisdictions.

In his role with OT Network Charlie provides medico-legal assessments and reports, utilising his depth of experience and his strong analytical skills to provide balanced and sound expert opinion. Charlie is committed to continuing professional education in his relevant practice areas.

Nicole Young
BAppSc(OT), Grad Cert (QIHC), Driver Trained OT, Member of OT Australia

Nicole's professional mission, spanning two decades, to improve the well-being of her clients and empower them to achieve greater independence in their lives. Her passion lies in devising effective solutions to daily activities that enable people to live life to the fullest.

With an extensive background as a clinical Occupational Therapist, Nicole’s experience is multifaceted, encompassing various settings, including regional, remote, and metropolitan areas. Her expertise extends across acute, sub-acute, rehabilitation, and community contexts. Nicole has also taken on diverse roles, providing occupational therapy and case management services in the fields of trauma, orthopaedics, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, general surgery, neurological rehabilitation, paediatrics, hand therapy, general medicine and aged.

Nicole is based in the greater Newcastle area, where she has been engaged in private practice since 2013.

Charlie Hunnisett
Practice Manager

Charlie Hunnisett plays an important administrative role at Occupational Therapy Network.

In addition to taking care of the smooth running of the office, she is often the first point of contact for clients. Charlie provides comprehensive administrative support with responsibilities including referral management, coordination of appointments, office administration, accounts and document management.

At any one time, Charlie coordinates numerous projects including review of procedures, quality improvement and information resources. She seeks to refine systems and procedures to ensure that services are provided in a timely and efficient manner. Charlie’s effective communication skills are an asset to the team, clients and customers alike.

Charlie came to Occupational Therapy Network with a wealth of experience in co-ordination and organisation within the travel industry where she was an Account Manager for a leading inbound operator. This role saw her organising both small specialist groups coming to Australia for medical conferences as well as large corporate incentive trips.

Nicole Brodie
Client Services Coordinator

Nicole joined the OT Network team several years ago with a wealth of experience in customer service, reception and office administration.

Within OT Network Nicole’s collaborative approach and organisational skills are pivotal in coordinating services ensuring we meet client requirements.

A people-orientated person, Nicole has worked in aged care providing nursing and personal care within the community and aged care facilities. She has firsthand understanding of the needs of the aged and the challenge of maintaining independence and dignity. She also has an appreciation of the demands of caring, particularly home-based care.

Nicole is a qualified Enrolled Nurse with an Associate Diploma in Social Welfare and has completed a Certificate IV in Business

Nicole provides administrative support to the OT Network team and her keen eye for detail and formatting skills are key in ensuring a quality level of production for documentation and reports.
