Karen Dempsey

With extensive occupational therapy experience gained both locally and overseas, Karen has developed a reputation for accomplishing sustainable results with a diverse range of clients. She has worked with both adults and children and her areas of specialty include complex and catastrophic injury, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, major orthopaedic injury and congenital disabilities.

Karen has demonstrated knowledge and skills in identifying rehabilitation needs, retraining in functional tasks, equipment prescription and return to work.

With a strong focus on consultation with providers, clients and stakeholders she is able to produce solutions to progress the outcomes for the key parties. Knowledge of the Lifetime Care and Support Scheme as well as CTP Rehabilitation and WorkCover enables her to provide case management and occupational therapy across the various schemes.

Karen held a senior clinical position in a NSW government department and developed her own practice overseas. She is WorkHab Accredited for Functional Capacity Evaluations.

Karen has a passion for assisting people with injuries regain independence and be engaged in meaningful activity, in particular, work roles.
