Liz graduated with a degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Western Sydney in 2002. Since then, she has gained occupational therapy experience in a variety of clinical situations including acute, aged care, palliative care, rehabilitation and community based settings. Three years in London working with the National Health Service provided Liz with an excellent opportunity to hone her skills with a range of clients. Liz has developed her knowledge and expertise in assessment of functional capacity and development of functional upgrading programs, equipment prescription and home modifications.
More recently, Liz performed the role as a worker’s compensation case manager with an insurer. This role was valuable in gaining experience in the worker’s compensation field and skills including development of graded return to work plans, management of multifaceted injuries and negotiation with associated health professionals.
Liz has managed complex and catastrophic claims including brain and spinal injury, burns and amputees within the CTP, worker’s compensation and Lifetime Care and Support schemes. She is familiar with the relevant guidelines and legislation of these schemes and works towards client centred goals and independence whilst considering reasonable and necessary treatment and care needs.
Liz’s role within Occupational Therapy Network is in providing both occupational therapy and case management drawing on her professional background to achieve outcomes.
