BAppSc(OT) Occupational Therapist
Based in the Illawarra region, Roslyn has over 30 years experience as an Occupational Therapist working in hospital inpatient, outpatient and community settings with a solid background in acute care and rehabilitation.
As a therapist, Ros has developed skills in clinical occupational therapy with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions, burns, amputations, aged care, dementia, hand and upper limb therapy. Roslyn’s expertise in the management of acute and chronic pain, degenerative and overuse conditions was refined through health promotion and education with clients at an individual and group level in the areas of arthritis, pain management and cardiac rehabilitation.
Pursuing a growing passion for empowering clients, Ros performed a crucial role in a pioneer telephonic health program coaching members to self-manage their health conditions and behaviours. Through working with clients with chronic and complex health conditions, Ros built a strong knowledge base in behavioural change theory, motivational interviewing, health coaching, health risk assessment and management.
Ros has proven diversity fulfilling various roles such as occupational therapist, case manager and in management, student teaching and supervision in public and private health and education sector settings. Roslyn’s experience in occupational rehabilitation and working with a range of stakeholders, provided good preparation for her role with OT Network as a clinician and case manager.
Ros provides case management, activities of daily living (ADL) assessment and intervention, equipment prescription, home modifications and return-to-work.
Ros has achieved approved case manager status working with participants in the icare Lifetime Care & Support and Workers Care Schemes. Ros is qualified to administer the Functional Independence Measure.
Roslyn remains passionate in her commitment to engage client participation in goal setting, and ownership of their health wellbeing to achieve the best possible functional outcomes.
