Kathy Stanbury, BAppSc (OT), Member of OT Australia

Kathy Stanbury qualified as an Occupational Therapist from the University of Sydney in 1991. Since then, Kathy has worked mainly in acute hospital, rehabilitation and community settings with aged care clients and people with a physical disability. As well as providing occupational therapy treatment, Kathy has case management experience with a rehabilitation provider and aged care community team.

She has expertise in functional assessment, ADL training, home and access assessment, adaptive equipment prescription, and both minor and major home modifications. Knowledge and experience in functional capacity evaluations and workplace assessments developed when working with a vocational rehabilitation provider.

Kathy is a clear and effective communicator who devises practical solutions to difficulties faced by clients and facilitates rehabilitation from injury.

Kathy's dedication to prevention of injury is evidenced by her implementation of a Falls Prevention programme in an Aged Care setting and provision of training on overcoming barriers to returning to work for clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. She has delivered education to client groups in areas such as energy conservation post-pulmonary illness and optimising community access for the elderly. She has additionally provided in-service training to occupational therapists.

Kathy has a commitment to continuing professional development and attends relevant conferences to further her skills and knowledge.
