Marie is a skilled occupational therapist with a background in rehabilitation in a range of settings including hospital, home, community and workplace. Prior experience as a rehabilitation adviser to Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurers is invaluable in her role with OT Network, providing case management and occupational therapy services within the NSW Motor Accident Scheme.
Marie is knowledgeable and practised in implementing and reviewing domestic assistance, attendant care and nursing services. Her skills in liaising with numerous agencies and stakeholders ensure the provision of quality care to injured people.
Marie has worked with people with a range of injuries and illnesses including musculoskeletal conditions, complex orthopaedic injuries, upper and lower limb amputations, hand injuries and neurological conditions. Additionally she is experienced in the assessment and management of people with age related illness and disability , including the provision of equipment and home modifications to facilitate independent living.
With post-graduate qualifications in ergonomics, Marie is adept at providing manual handling training and advising on other safe work practices in industries as varied as transport, forestry and manufacturing. She has been responsible for the development of job dictionaries, redesign of work processes and work area layout to prevent injury and promote healthy work practices for organisations such as Australia Post, NSW Roads and Traffic Authority and the NSW Police Service. She has extensive experience in prescription of seating for individuals with musculoskeletal injuries. Marie's expertise in ergonomics assists her when working with injured people to develop effective solutions for upgrading and achieving independence in activities of daily living.
